Standardized testing = utter boredom

We are doing 'norm testing' for one of the standardized testing companies which basically means that we interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to bring you a test of which the results will have no bearing on anything other than to tell the company how they can 'tweak' the test for general use. So this means one less day available to teach new material and with finals looming, those days are in short supply!

I don't have a homeroom so I was a floater...which means I sat in the computer lab and graded a pre-algebra test, created an algebra test and key for said test, talked to the Brandon, our PE teacher who doesn't have a homeroom either, ate too much fruit pizza--this is National Teacher Appreciation Week and so the thought is that the way you show someone you appreciate them is by feeding them...too much! and looked up anything and everything I could possibly think of on the internet. Now it's time for lunch and then I will give the algebra test and cover another section of info on circles with my geometry class...I can't wait until I'm NOT a math teacher!!

It's a testament to God's grace and wonderful sense of humor that I've made it to the end of the year. I feel like I've done my best, but I'm ready for it to be over! Next year I'll be teaching English and Bible courses which are MUCH more my style! :) Ok, everyone is heading to lunch, so I guess we will return to our regularly scheduled broadcasting! ;)
